When Carter woke up on Christmas morning, we entered her room with the video camera rolling. We turned on the lamp and told her, "Merry Christmas!" After getting her out of her crib, she drank her bottle in our bed before we went downstairs. With Carter, her bottle is kinda like some grown-up's coffee; there are no smiles until she's about half way through...so having breakfast for her was a must before venturing downstairs.
Daddy brought Carter downstairs and put her down at the floor, thinking she would take off crawling to her new toys but nope, not Carter. She started to get up set and cry until...
She saw what Santa had brought her! The tears turned off and quickly she was intrigued.
She bypassed the caterpillar tunnel and the bouncing turtle, crawled over the presents and went straight to her new pink kitchen.
She was so happy and full of smiles as daddy kept the video camera rolling.
Then she started talking up a storm and playing with the pots and pans. I think she loved her new kitchen!
Then she made her way over to her bouncing turtle. With a little help from mom and the pot lid in tow, she was up and bouncing on her new turtle. It plays music and has different colors and shape buttons for her to push. She seemed to be having a lot of fun.Next it was time to open presents. Carter got pj's, socks, slippers, books, clothes and more toys.
After all the presents were opened, Carter went straight back to her new kitchen and started making us breakfast. Daddy even had fun helping too!

Carter has grown so much over the past year. Last year we were just thankful to have our quiet little bundle of joy healthy and home from the hospital. This year, we have a standing, two and half toothed one-year-old babbling and smiling up a storm...and we LOVED every moment! Merry Christmas, lil' Carter-Bug!
