Carter's First Halloween

We took pictures a couple days before Halloween just because we wanted to make sure we got some pictures before the night got too hectic or if we had bad weather.
Carter looked so cute in her pumpkin costume!
Grammy and Grandpa dropped by before our night got started to bring Carter a Halloween treat.
Then at 5:30, all of the neighborhood was invited to meet in our cul-de-sac for the Halloween parade. The plan was to walk around the neighborhood but due to the rain, we took the short cut and walked a street down to the next cul-de-sac were we had a potluck dinner together before trick-or-treating started.
It was dinner time for Carter so she got a bottle before the parade started. She wasn't the least bit interested in her bottle once she saw all the kids in their costumes. I guess there was too much to look!

Our little pumpkin wanted to get down and walk like a big girl.

The 2nd Annual Vintners Wood Halloween Parade officially began.
Carter and her little friend, Ellyson, looked super cute for their first Halloween!
Mr. Casey had do get a picture with his favorite two girls!
Gee made it just in time to see the parade and to stay for some Trick-or-Treating.
 All of the neighborhood kids.
We headed back to the house to hand out candy to some of our favorite little neighbors! Carter wasn't sure what to think of all the door bell ringing and people at our front door. She went back and forth from the den to the front door to see what was going on.
And since she couldn't have any candy she got Cheerios!
Mid way through this was where Carter stayed. She wanted to be close enough to see what was going on but we didn't want her too close just in case a costume would scare her. (Previously at the parade, our neighbor was dressed as Bat Man came up to say hello and Carter's bottom lip puckered and she started wailing! This was the only costume that upset her the whole night!)
Our little pumpkin checking out all the action.
Carter enjoyed her goodies and card from Gee and Papa!
Carter wasn't ready for Gee to leave so she followed her to the front door and lucky for her she got a peek at all the fun going on outside!
Since Carter couldn't have any candy she only went to some of our closest neighbor's house to practice trick-or-treating for next year!

After that we came back home, changed her diaper and played in the den. With the door bell ringing every few minutes, Carter was well entertained. She was in such a good mood and was all smiles!

Our den was a mess but we didn't care...she was enjoying herself!
She is wanting to walk so bad. She pushed her table until she pushed it into the wall! After that we played  peek-a-boo with the rings.
Time to open her treat from Grammy and Grandpa! She got a Halloween touch and feel book and she loved to feel the black spider!
Once the doorbell stopped ringing we hopped in the car and went to say Happy Halloween to our friend, Kristin. Carter ate some puffs while we visited a few minutes but bedtime had passed and we knew we needed to call it a night.

Once home and we were all in our jammies, we all crawled in the bed and watch TV. Carter was super snuggly and would go back and forth resting her head on our shoulder or belly. At one point we thought she had fallen asleep laying between the two of us, but nope, she was just calm and watching TV with us. She had to have been exhausted because she is never that still! Finally we said our good nights and Casey put her in her crib. No tears, she snuggled with Lamby and drifted off to sleep!
