Carter Goes to 2K Preschool

This morning was meet the teacher and open house at Carter's preschool. She was very excited to see her teacher, Mrs. Erica and meet her new friends. Today's theme was St. Stephen's Preschool Roundup. We were greeted by smiling faces as we entered the social hall and Carter was given her new book bag and a little horse figurine. Mrs. Erica told her that they would be heading to the classroom shortly to play and even get out some play dough. While Pastor Pat and Pastor Jason were blessing the book bags, Carter whispered, "Where's the play dough?" The children's part of the prayer was to say "Jesus is with me" and "Amen."

As soon as Mrs. Erica's class was called to the door, Carter literally jumped out of her seat, dropped mommy's hand, walked passed the other kids and grabbed her teacher's hand to walked down the hall to her classroom. She looked like she knew exactly what she was supposed to do.

As they reached the door, she found her picture, put her book bag in her cubby and went straight to the table. Mommy stood outside the door watching in amazement! She never looked back, she didn't give me a wave or a goodbye. Just like that, she was a preschooler!

The parents gathered in the Sunday school room, just down the hall, to meet one another. Even though today was only an hour, you had a lot of fun. Mommy spied on you as class was ending and you were being a good helper by helping clean up! As soon as mommy walked into the classroom, you rushed over and got your cowboy hat from your cubby, asked Mrs. Erica to help you put it on and were so excited to show mommy your cowboy mask!

When asked what you did at preschool, you answered:
"Just played."
"Just used my manners."
"Just cleaned up with my new friend, Hudson."
 "Jesus with me!"

When asked what your favorite part of your day was, you answered:
"Playing with Legos."

If today was a glance of what is to come this year, it looks like you will not have a problem transitioning and will love everything about preschool at St. Stephen's!
