Crawford Is Eight Months Old

Each month seems to be picking up pace. Little Man, you are all over the place; up the stairs, crawling down the hall, standing and reaching for things, and most of all...keeping us on our toes! Your newest trick is siting up without support. Yes, you are a tad late on hitting this milestone but when you are crawling and standing...who has time to practice sitting up? That's boring! And you are anything but boring!
Your first tooth finally broke through and you now have your bottom right tooth. We noticed that you weren't sleeping or napping as well as you normally do and a couple days later (Sept. 18) there it was.

On your eighth month birthday (almost on exact the hour), we were rear-ended in a three car pile up. Thank goodness you, sissy, and mommy were fine but our car had damage to the rear of it. What a way to remember your eighth month birthday!

You have a very distinct crawl right now. You always pick your right leg up but you sometimes let your left leg drag but if you are in a hurry to get somewhere that left leg gets to moving and your pick it up just like you do your right. It's like you have two speeds, your Sunday afternoon cruising around town speed and your 70 mph on the interstate and passing people, fast speed.
You definitely work up an appetite with all this movement. You love to eat your pureed fruits and vegetables. You still love to nurse but will take a 5 oz. bottle. We are still working through your tummy issues but you seem to be doing better. When we were at the pediatrician sometime in mid-September for tummy issues, they weighed you with your clothes on, a wet diaper, and you were very constipated --- you weighed 16 pounds 13 ounces. You were so fussy with your tummy ache that it wasn't worth upsetting you even more so we just changed your wet diaper and moved on. It wasn't an accurate weight so it wasn't put on the growth chart. We've noticed your little legs chunking up but you still have the longest torso and smallest waist and short legs!
Each month, we see you and your sissy interacting more and more. She has really started to get into helping take your monthly pictures. She asks if we can take your pictures atleast a couple times a week. This month we took pictures on a preschool day after naptime. Carter wore a cute dress and wanted to wear one of daddy's PC baseball tshirts to sleep in...and she kept in on after naptime---but she said she had to have a bow in to match it!
Not only are you growing up but so is your sissy! You both need to slow down!
Getting a good picture of the two of you together is almost near impossible these days!
When you aren't pulling up on everything, you are chewing on our fingers!
Of course, there are times when she wants to play alone and you just can't stand to be anywhere but on her coattails. You are always checking up on her, no matter where she goes!
You are still wearing your 6 months one piece clothes and size 3 diapers. Size 2 shoes are too small but size 3 give you room to grow.
You have the biggest smile. (And we always joke that your tongue goes crazy!) It looks like it won't be long until you have two little teeth on the bottom.
Little man, we can't believe how fast time is passing, how quickly you are growing, and we aren't sure how it is possible but each day that passes we love you more and more!
