Gee's 60th Surprise Birthday Party

Peeking out the window...Are they here yet???

Mom was sooo surprised! She even cried!

We had invited friends, family, and her co-workers from when she first started working with the state.

Everyone wanted to see Carter but Carter wasn't too sure what to think of all the people. 

Carter ended up taking a nap during the party and when she woke up, she was ready to socialize.

We were so thankful the rain held off and everyone was able to spread out outside. The ladies from NRES enjoyed seeing each other and catching up.

We sang "Happy Birthday" and when it was time to blow out the candles, mom cried again.

Carter thoroughly enjoyed the Mathis chicken salad sandwiches! 

 She loved sitting on Mr. Hendrix's lap!

 And after everyone was gone, we gave mom a stack of almost 60 envelopes with letters that everyone one of the guests had hand written, including some pictures that people had sent too! She was so surprise!

 Carter was still going strong and was loving the attention from Gee and Squeaky!

All the secret planning, phone calls to people I did not know, and hard work was totally worth the smile and tears it brought to mom's face. Happy 60th birthday, Mom! We love you!
