Purple Martins at Lake Murray

After spending Saturday afternoon at GPa’s we decided to go watch the Purple Martins at the lake that evening. We got out there about 8pm –past Carter and Crawford’s bedtimes, but they did great! Carter was so excited to ride in Papa’s boat. The birds were just starting to arrive when we got there and after a few minutes, there were hundreds and thousands of Purple Martins flying around Bomb Island. Carter loved everything about it. Crawford did great for his first time in the boat. He just watched and took everything in. 

 On the way out, we witnessed a boat sinking (This was so scary!) and by the time we headed back to Pine Island, the tow boats had towed in as close as they could to the beach area of island. It was a late night for all of us but it was so worth it…Carter hasn’t stopped talking about how much fun she had! *Daddy was with us...he just happened to be the photographer!
