Turning The Car Seat Around

This is the face of one happy little girl riding rear facing in her car seat. What you can't see are her long legs that are scrunched in front of her and the back of the chair. Sometimes she even would sit criss-crossed to give her some extra room. We have been trying to wait until she was two years old to turn her around, but those long giraffe legs that she has were just making harder and harder to put her in.

Thinking it would be a quick and easy task to turn her around, mommy suggested it right as we were leaving for our Friday morning outing. Carter doesn't eat or drink anything in the car but looking under and in her car seat, you would think she eats a Thanksgiving feast in there at least once a week! After vacuuming everything out and daddy reading the manual, about an hour later the car seat was forward facing. We aren't exactly what took so long but as long as it is safe and secure, we are happy! While we waited, Carter got to watch The Mother Goose Club in the back of the car. (Those little blonde curls!!!)
When Carter first saw her car seat, she wasn't sure what to think. Once she was buckled in, got a kiss from daddy, and had Lamby in hand she was all smiles!
Ready for her first ride in her big girl car seat!
Since she is able to see out the window, she was talking and pointing to everything she could see. She had never been more vocal and active in the car as she was on this ride. Since daddy was driving, and because he practically sits in the back seat (see where she inherits the giraffe legs from?) Carter got in trouble for kicking daddy's seat. Once it was made clear that she was not allowed to do so, she kept her legs still.
30 minutes later and still in her forward facing car seat: the bow had been ripped out of her hair, her shoes were off, Lamby was around her neck, and she was ready to get out of the car.
Oh and not to forget probably her most favorite thing to do since her car seat was turned around: Watching videos WITHOUT having to watch them in a mirror!
