Happy 20 months old to our beautiful little girl!
We aren't sure how you do it, but you keep getting cuter each month. This month's pictures are some of mommy and daddy's favorites out of all your pictures! Your bright eyes and smile make up for us not taking your 19 months pictures. Mommy is so upset, it was the first time we've ever forgotten to take your monthly pictures since you were born!
You constantly make everyone around you smile and laugh. When out in public, you are our social butterfly. We walk into a store and you wave at most everyone. (Not to mention when we leave you have to tell everyone "Bye!" and wave too!) You enjoy being mommy's shopping buddy. If we are in a store with a buggy, you immediately notice and want to ride. One of your favorite places to go is to the grocery store. As soon as we walk through the door, you starts saying, "Cheese! Cheese! Cheese!" and the occasional "Ham!" You absolutely LOVE the deli section and the people that work behind the counter enjoy seeing you too!You can make even the most boring moments funny. It never fails, when mommy or daddy is trying to rest (with their eyes closed) you insist on tickling us to wake us up. Who could resist trying to sleep through your laughter? You also know exactly what you want these days and with your rapidly expanding vocabulary, we are finding it easier to understand you. Words you can say: sit, bye, hey, teddy, shoes, more, help, bay (baby),hot, plwee (please), hop, and play. There are probably many more but those are the ones that come to mind. We have been working on colors and counting. You always skip the number one, but you consistently count the number two, and your pronunciation of the number three is getting better.
Your little ringlets are getting longer and thankfully staying curly. You don't have any reservations about wearing a bow unless you want to wear something on your head (such as a hat or any random bucket). Your feet must have grown overnight because we have had to get all new shoes this month. You are now wearing a size 6/7. You love your navy Mary Janes. It's probably because they smell like candy. We can be riding down the road in the car and daddy will randomly say, "I smell Carter's shoes." We all laugh and you start sniffing. You are wearing mostly 2T clothes now.
We can officially say that you are day-time potty trained. You get excited to take your diaper off each morning to put on your big girl panties. If we are traveling or running errands, you wear a pull up but do extremely well using stores bathrooms when needed. The pull up is kinda like mommy's security blanket, she just feels better out in public and in the car if you have one on. You know when you see a diaper it means it's time to get ready for bed...which is not your favorite thing to do. When we went to the pediatrician this past month, she was surprised at how well you were doing with your potty training. You sure did catch on quick!
Since it hasn't been as hot, we have been able to spend more time outside. You love to run around the back yard and play with mommy and daddy. We often sit in the front yard just before daddy gets home in the evenings. You love to wave to the neighbors as they drive by and look for planes in the sky.
We can't believe how fast you are growing up. You really look more like a little girl now and not so much at all like a baby. If asked if you are going to be a big sister, you will sometimes say yes, other times say no. Either way, you always seem very adamant about your answer.
You continue to take your two naps a day (10:30 & 3;30). Some days if we are out or busy you will just take your morning nap but bedtime comes a little earlier and you get super duper cranky when it is time to get ready for bed. Once you are in your sleep sack you always asked to rock. Some nights we do, some nights we don't. Either way, you fuss when we put you in your crib but it doesn't take long for you to settle in and fall asleep. In the mornings you wake up around 7:15 (or a little earlier) and talk to all of your friends in your crib and around your room. It never fails, one of the first things you point out to mommy and daddy is the sheep stuffed animal that is on a shelf by your closet. You are obsessed with sheep!
Each month mommy and daddy say "This was our favorite." And this month is no different. How could you get any cuter? How could next month be more fun? I guess we shall see...but until then, we treasure each day with you, our beautiful blue eyed little girl!
