Snow Day #2 2014

On Tuesday, daddy came home from work because the they were forcasting another bad winter storm. Later that afternoon, it began to rain and sleet and from there it only got worst. Wednesday we woke up to everything covered in white stuff, but it wasn't really snow. It was more sleet and ice. We stayed inside the whole day and watched all the action (in our warm pj's) from the window. By Thursday morning, it was snowing, like actual flakes of snow. At one point while Carter was eating her breakfast the flakes were so big we decided to get dressed and go outside to take some pictures. By the time we got outside, the size of the flakes had gotten smaller, but still Carter actually got to see snow falling from the sky.
At first she didn't know what to think of it. She batted her eyes as the flakes would land on her eyelashes and eyebrows. Over the past couple of days she has really gotten better at standing and walking on her own. She stood in this position too afraid to take a single step and just watched the snow fall.
She preferred to have one of us with her (and holding on to her) and so did we. There were some icy slick spots that we had to watch out for. When we walked across the front yard, she kept looking down as the ice would crunch under our feet.
Our house and neighborhood looked like a winter wonderland. Icicles were hanging from our mailbox, the street sign, and our poor palm tree looked like it had seen better days.
Carter and daddy held hands as they walked down the sidewalk together.
She had started to 'warm up' to the idea of all the snow and white stuff.

The wind started to pick up and our noses were getting pink so it was time to go back inside to warm up!
