Five Months

Our baby girl is growing up so fast! We now have a roly poly on our hands and for this month's pictures, keeping her on the board was a task that I am not used to. When laying on her back she will only roll to her left to be on her belly. Then she rolls from her back from her belly and can travel a good distance just by rolling around the floor.

Casey had to play with her just to keep her in one place. She loves to stare and touch people faces; it's the sweetest thing.

Carter loves her daddy. When he comes home from work she is all smiles for him. Casey keeps saying that he can't wait to come home and Carter come running for a hug and saying, "Daddy!"  For now the 'melt your heart smiles' are cute too.
Everything goes in her mouth, including fingers and toes. She still wants her soothie pacifier at times throughout the day and especially at nap and bedtime. The blue ball is one of her favorite toys and so is Sophie the Giraffe but the little musical toy is worth it's weight in gold. If we are ever in the car or out in public and she starts to get fussy, it is our go to toy. She loves the music and watching it light up (plus it must taste good too).
Most all of her dark hair has fallen out except for the little patch in the back across the base of her head. The dark patch is getting thinner and thinner. Growing back in it's place is blonde hair! Mommy is so excited for her to have blonde hair just like her mommy! Our little blonde and blue eyed baby girl is the cutest thing! When taking pictures, I love to zoom in for head shots that focus on her little features and her big bright eyes.
Normally Carter is smiley and playful but in this one picture she seems so serious. It's like she has her finger over her mouth whispering, "shhh." Carter's personality continues to be calm and laid back. That leads me to wonder what she will be like when she is more mobile and can get in to things. Will she become a busy body, constantly be on the move and need to be entertained? Only time will tell...

When she moved to the floor, she would grab the blanket and roll over, wrapping her self inside. She wasn't sure what to think of having the blanket on her head but I thought it was super cute!

Along with being on her belly, Carter is starting to want to sit up. As for now, she can only kinda sit up using her arms to help support her. This only lasts a few seconds but as she gets stronger I know it won't be long before she is sitting up on her own.
Carter-Bug, we can't believe you are five months old already. You are growing and amazing us everyday. We love to kiss your sweet little cheeks and stare at you, especially when you hold our face in your hands. I keep saying I don't think you could get any cuter but you keep proving me wrong. This past month has been so much fun. You sure know how to light up a room and steal every one's heart. We love you, little bug!
