Two Weeks Old

It's hard to believe Carter is two weeks old already! She is such a good baby. We have been extremely excited about her sleeping habits. She has been sleeping 6 hours straight during the night. Her last feeding is around midnight and she sleeps until a little after 6am. Then she eats, we change her diaper and she goes back to sleep until 9am or 10am. She usually will eat and then be awake for a little while before taking a late morning nap. Lately we haven't gotten out of bed until then. I have to admit, we have had a few days this week where we have all stayed in our pajamas all day!

Weight: 9lbs 3oz  (on our scale)
Clothing: Newborn onesies fit best, newborn and 3 months pants, newborn and 3 months gowns and pjs
Eating: Close to 2oz; every 2.5 to 3 hours throughout the day
Sleeping: Midnight-6a, 6a-9a, after eating throughout the day

When Carter is asleep, she is normally a pretty deep sleeper. We are able to talk around her, clean up and even vacuum. She must get that from her mommy, since sometimes she can sleep through the early morning feedings without even hearing a thing. Thankfully, daddy is so good with her! (He even can change her diaper without her crying...which is something mommy is working on.) Daddy has been letting mom get lots of sleep and taking care of most of the nightly duties.

We introduced a new pacifier this week. She was given the big green one at the hospital but seems to really like the new, clear Nuk pacifier. We keep going back and forth between the two. In the beginning, we were leery of giving her a pacifier but now we prefer it over her sucking on her hands and fingers.

During one of her late evening feedings this week she helped hold her bottle. It was the cutest thing seeing such tiny hands wrapped around the bottle. We have definitely noticed her grip getting stronger. She will grab on to your finger, arm, and even grabbed my necklace a few times.

Daddy keeps talking about how Carter has grown and mommy keeps denying it...She wants her to stay just the way she is!
