Crawford Is Ten Months Old

Welcome to the double digits, Little Man! I say it every month but each month keeps passing faster and faster! What a month it has been!

You are growing, growing, growing and getting faster and faster! It was nearly impossible to get you to sit still this month to take pictures. We weren't working with much light because it was getting late but we had to wait until daddy was awake. The past month and a half has been quite different having daddy work the night shift for the outage. So we have to use the room when we can, no matter the time of day...plus mommy has to have daddy's help now a days since you won't sit still for anything except sometimes food. (Daddy was tossing puffs to you,)
You are wearing all size 9 months clothes, size 2/3 shoes, and size 3 diapers. That little tiny waist of yours causes you to only be able to wear jon jons or pants with the hidden adjustable waist. You need the 9 months length in pants but we have to adjust the waist to as small as it will go so your pants aren't falling down! When we ride in the car, you are still riding in a carrier but it never fails, if you have shoes and socks on you always take them off. Most times we get somewhere and you have a wet sock because you've been chewing on it. Mommy has started to carry an extra pair of socks because you do this so often.
You don't have a doctor's checkup this month so we don't know exactly how much you weigh but you are definitely gaining weight and getting longer! You love to eat!  In the mornings you usually have oatmeal with cinnamon and applesauce with half of a yogurt. (You love yogurt just as much as your sissy does!) For lunch and dinner you usually eat fruits, veggies and a little bit of whatever we are eating. Your favorite vegetables are peas, green beans, carrots, broccoli, zucchini and squash. You love fruits: apples, applesauce, pears, grapes and especially avocados. We are starting to work on drinking from a sippy cup. When we tried a while back, you you didn't seem really interested so we stopped. Now you think of it as a toy. So far we have only tried water in it and you will take a couple sips but you definitely still prefer a bottle of breastmilk or to nurse.
You try to get into everything! Sissy is like a little mommy to you sometimes. She will try to tell you what you need to be doing or not doing. She reminds you to say please and thank you. And if you even lay eyes on the stairs she will tell you "No sir, Tofford!!!"
Nothing is safe in our house unless it's up high, like waaaay high. You and those little legs get you in trouble climbing on everything. We had to take one of the picnic benches off your side of the table because you would go from standing at the bench, to on top of the bench, to the top of the table. You even once figured out that you could pull your little ride on toy up to the couch and use it as a stepping stool to get onto the couch (thankfully mommy was right there with you for that one), But you are definitely a climber.
You and your little tongue. No matter if you are working hard or smiling, that little tongue of yours seems to be hanging out these days.
You love to pull up and stand. You walk pretty well now with your walker and push toys. You will hold our hands and take steps but you haven't truly let go yet to try to take steps on your own. You definitely know your name. You will stop and look at us when we call "Crawford" or "Little Man." Especially when you are about to do something that we are trying to stop you from, we will call your name and you stop, look at us, grin and there's a 50/50 chance that you will either stop or keep going to get into trouble.

Carter is learning the Ten Commandments at preschool and when you are doing something that we tell you not to do, quiet often she will say, "Crawford, you not followin' camandnet number four, listen to your mom and dad." It's hilarious!
You are sleeping and napping pretty consistently this month. With daddy working nights and mommy having to put both you and sissy to bed we have been on a pretty strict schedule. At night we eat dinner starting at 5, then play, and then we start getting you ready for bed at 6. Usually by 6:30 we have made it upstairs and you have a 4 oz bottle and nurse before bedtime by 7. Sometime between 5 and 6 am you will wake to nurse then go right back to bed until 7:30 or 8. Then you are usually ready to nap around 10/10:30 for an hour or two. Then mommy tries really hard for you and sissy to take your afternoon naps together around 1/2pm---it all depends on how the two of you are doing. We never know how long you are going to nap but 9 times out of 10 you and sissy wake up at about the same time...it's like y'all sense it!
You bring so much love and laughter to our family, Little Man! We can't imagine...or remember what life was like without you and that big smile of yours! We love you!!!
