Carter's 2nd Birthday Party

Carter had a super small family get together to celebrate her 2nd birthday due to all the flu and sickness going around right now. Although we missed having family members with us to celebrate, Carter enjoyed every minute of her birthday celebration!
Carter went down for a nap a little over an hour before her party was to start. Our little princess slept a little later than we expected but when she woke up, all her guests had arrived and were waiting on her. Talk about an entrance, walking down to stairs to find your family waiting to see the birthday girl!
We let Carter pick out her birthday wrapping paper and of course she chose "FiFi" (Sofia the First). She was so excited to see her gifts wrapped in "FiFi" that we think she would have been content with just the paper and no gifts. She went through and pointed out and named all the characters from the Disney Jr show. Once she realized that she could take the paper off the presents, she was excited to open each on to see what was inside.

Every gift Carter got was a sure hit. She went around playing with everything, from one new toy to the next. She was having so much fun playing that it was hard to get her to take a break to sing Happy Birthday and have cupcakes. "YaYa" enticed her with a sheep cookie. She only got two bites then it was time for her to sit at the table to sing.
At first, she wasn't too sure about the daddy lighting the candle, but after we started singing she knew exactly what to do! She was ready to blow out the flame!
Then she was all about the cupcake. Icing first then cake!
After she finished the cupcake, she wanted the rest of her sheep cookie. Normally she wouldn't have gotten both but because she was the birthday girl we didn't have the heart to tell her no. She enjoyed the lamb cookie even more than the cupcake! She played with the lamb as if it was walking on the table and was very specific about not eating the head until last. She even made it stand up all on it's own and she was amazed at what she had done!
While she was eating her cookie, she kept asking us to "sing one more time." And of course we did. Each time we finished she would throw her hands in the air with excitement!

Then it was back to playing with her new toys.
Pictures with the birthday girl!
We can't believe you are two and we couldn't love you any more! Happy Birthday, Carter Bug!
