Christmas Tree 2014

We went to two different places looking for a Christmas tree this year and at both places, Carter was uninterested in the Christmas trees. First place we went was Home Depot and all Carter wanted to do was go look at the "playhouses" (aka the sheds). As soon as she saw them in the parking lot we knew we weren't going to be able to leave without going to check out the "playhouses" or we would be hearing about it the rest of the night. After we decided that there were no trees there that we wanted, we walked through almost every shed they had on the lot. Carter was in heaven!

It was getting late and the sun was going down, so we stopped at Lowes. There was a better selection there but Carter still wasn't interested in the trees; she was more intregued with all the "bow ties" (the blue pieces of string wrapped around the tree holding it closed.) She walked around picking up almost every cut "bow tie" she saw laying on the ground.

Finally we found a tree and we headed home. It was late and so dark that we made the decision to just get the tree inside and on the stand and we would decorate it in the morning. So that's what we did.

The next morning we woke up, ate cinnamin rolls and started decorating the tree. This year, Carter wanted to be very 'hands on' and help with every step. She was right there with daddy helping with every strand of lights.

There aren't any pictures of us actually hanging the ornaments on the tree because that took a team effort. Daddy would get them out of the box and make sure they had the hook on them, Carter would take the hook off and try to hang it on the tree, and mommy would end up digging in the tree looking for the lost hook and putting the ornaments where they needed to be.

Overall, we had a fun morning decorating our Christmas tree!
