Finally the outage was over and we had our daddy back! Well when I say "back", I mean he was at the house during the night (instead of at work) but his body still thought he was on the night shift schedule. Either way we didn't care, Carter and I were just happy to have him home and with us!
We had planned ahead and asked Grammy if she would keep Carter while we went out to celebrate the completion of the outage with lunch on our own. (Little did she know, she was keeping Carter so we could go to our first doctors appointment for Baby #2!)
When the doctor that delivered Carter told us that she would be moving, I was so upset. We loved her and she was amazing! She insisted that we keep in touch so as soon as the first two at-home pregnancy tests came out positive I contacted. She suggested a friend that she went to school with which helped so much with my nervousness of having to go to a new doctor.
As soon as we met Dr. Lambert, we knew we liked her. Another big plus was her office staff and nurses; they are so nice! We went into our ultrasound thinking that our due date would be January 10 and we were 8 weeks 4 days along but our little baby measured small at 6 weeks 6 days and our due date would be January 22, 2015. The most reassuring part of the whole experience was that we could hear our little baby's heart beating (146 beats per minute). Everything looked normal we would be back in 5 weeks for another check up.
With ultrasound pictures in hand, we walked out super excited and then went to discuss everything over lunch.
When we returned back home, Grammy had no clue that we had been to the doctor she just thought we had ran a couple of extra errands along the way!
