Fripp Beach Trip 2014

The Tuesday after Aunt Squeaky's graduation, we loaded up and headed to the beach. (And by loaded up, I am LOADED up.) Mommy had the car packed the night before and only had to pack the cooler the morning of. Squeaky rode with us since daddy sadly had to stay at home to work. When she got there we were worried we were going to have to tie her suitcase to the top of the car...not really, but we were packed to the brim! On the way to Folly, we stopped to shop in Bluffton. When we got there, mommy couldn't find her purse; she thought it was somewhere packed in the car. After realizing it was left at home, daddy had to over-night it to us. Oops!

Carter was a trooper on the way there. She napped, watched Barney Visits The Zoo and played with her toys. She was super excited to get out of the car and do some shopping! While the girls took a bathroom break, Papa took Carter. When we came out, we turned the corner to find her sitting in a car and grinning from ear to ear! After putting a few quarters in, it started to move back and forth and play music. Carter absolutely LOVED it!

We made it to Fripp and as soon as we got out of the car, a deer was waiting on us in the front yard. It was Carter's first account with seeing a live deer; normally she just pets Papa's mounted ones. She was totally in awe of this deer. She couldn't do anything but stare at it. After getting everything in the house, we went on a golf cart ride. As the sun started setting, the deer started to come out. We would slow down and point them out to Carter and she would get so excited. After a long day of traveling and shopping, we were both tired. Before bed, we took a selfie and sent it to daddy to say good night. The next morning mommy's purse arrived!

We enjoyed our time on the beach. First day, Carter loved the water. We couldn't keep her out of it. As soon as we would get close to our towels, she would take off running back to the water. She didn't want anything to do with the sand.
Of course we had one rainy day while we were there. Carter and I stayed back while Gee, Papa, and Squeaky went antique shopping. The rain was spotty and really wasn't that bad. Carter and I spent most of that day riding around on the golf cart. As we walked out on the pier, Carter was intreguied at all the little crabs that were running around down below us in the sand. There were hundreds of them. It was really windy on the pier. Carter's hair was in ringlets due to the humidity, but out there it was so windy her hair went flat and blew in the wind. We played at the park on our way back to the house. Carter loved the bucket swing! She giggled and squealed the whole time!

Carter's favorite part of our whole vacation was getting to see so many deer. Multiple afternoons deer would be in the back yard and Carter would get so excited. Anyone who knows Carter knows she loves food. When Papa brought out the potatoe chips to feed to the deer, Carter didn't even think once about eating them herself. She wanted to feed the deer! She would drop the chips down from the deck and watch them eat them and quickly turn around wanting more chips to drop.
The last day, when we went out on the beach, Carter was so tired. As soon as we got out there, she cried when her toes hit the sand. Mommy walked up and down the beach carrying Carter for 45 mins while she took a nap in my arms. When she woke up, she was back to her normal self. Although she didn't want anything to do with the water, all she wanted to do was play in the sand. Totally backwards from her first time on the beach.
Carter slept the whole way home, except when we stopped to eat lunch. After lunch we ran around and blew bubbles in a neighboring field then loaded back up to head home. As soon as we pulled in the driveway, Carter was awake and ready to play. We had such a fun vacation!
