Crawford is Five Months Old

Your smile brightens our day and your belly laughs are contagious! Not sure where the last five months have gone but we are loving this stage you are in! Recently you have become ticklish and it is the cutest thing! You can't help but smile and laugh when we give you kisses on your neck and you sound so cute when you laugh when you are tickled under your arms.

We keep watching our gums. We can tell exactly where your top two teeth are waiting to break through, while your bottom two are just slightly puffy. They aren't ready to break through yet, but we know it is coming. Some days you are a drool machine. You like gnawing on your fingers. We occasionally catch you sucking on your thumb. Mommy is totally against this and will do almost anything for you not to be a thumb sucker. You still will not take a paci, unlike your sister. Rarely, you will gnaw on it but it falls out as soon as we sick it in or you act like it gags you.

Since last month, you have definitely gotten stronger and are more eager to crawl. You like to roll all over but you have started to scoot around --- sometimes you even scoot backwards. One of the first times we realized that you were mobile was when we put you down on the opposite side of the rug and a few minutes later Carter started fussing that you were "eating her dress!" Carter-bug is still freaked out by your drooling - and not to mention you trying to eat her dress. This was probably only a glimpse at the future for you two...By the way, it is so hard to get a picture of the two of you together. Carter seems to be in a "no picture taking phase" so this was rare.

Family meal time has become a tantalizing event for you. You either sit in the Bumbo on the table and watch us eat/play with a toy, watch us from your swing, or sit in mommy and daddy's lap. Food is becoming very appealing to you. You stare at it like you want it so bad. It is hard to believe that this time next month you will start eating baby food! Meal time will then take on a whole new meaning! Right now, you are still doing really well nursing and taking a couple bottles of breast milk here and there.

You are still wearing size two diapers but have moved up to some 6 months clothes. When we bought clothes in advance, we anticipated that you would be along the same size as your sissy...so needless to say, most of your summer clothes are a tad bit on the larger size for your skinny little body. We are having a hard time finding swim trunks that will stay up around  your itty bitty waist. The 3-6 month ones practically fell down around your ankles even with a diaper on.

If you are having a fussy moment, its amazing to watch your whimper turn into happy sounds if we stand you up. You enjoy being on your feet or on your belly. You look so big when you are standing up. The months are flying by and you continue to grow and amaze us! We love you, Crawford!
