15 Months

Where has our baby gone? It's like she has been replaced with a walking (maybe I should say running) and talking little girl! It's getting harder to take staged pictures of Carter; unless I'm going for the blurred motion shots because she is constantly on the move. During the day, she never sits down. Never. Unless it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. She freely roams the house these days and loves the independence.

The pediatrician asked us if we were starting to see things "click?" That is the perfect way to describe this stage. Carter is understanding so much more now. She can follow simple commands and complete little tasks. (Such as shut the door, bring me the ___, give this to ___, etc.) We continue to work on the big "come here" command. She looks at you with her mischievous grin and those big blue eyes and just stares. Or if she sees that you have a diaper or change of clothes then she takes off running. She still absolutely hates to be changed! Funny how this has been the exact same since birth.

It's so neat to see the wheels turning in her brain now when we play. A favorite toy this month has been magnets. She thinks it's so interesting when they hang on her magnetic board. Not only are magnets fun to play with but she thinks they are awesome to carry and spread around the house. You never know where you will find the letter magnets or the magnetic chip clips.

We've officially moved up to the 18 months clothes. Most 12 months pieces are too short in the length. She has long little legs and shall we say a long torso? Okay, lets be honest...the 18 months shirts help cover 'The Belly'. But we can't leave out another reason we wear a bigger shirt now...because of her big noggin! Still wearing a size 4 shoe and we are loving The Baby Gap 6-12 months socks. We have started to upgrade to the larger bows. Your little brain must be huge because you have a big little noggin; fitting you head through some shirts can be a challenge. And lastly, still sporting around those size 3 diapers. She wears the Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers during the day and the Baby Dry at night.

"Hey there" is your favorite thing to say. You say it a trillion times a day. To ma, da, Lamby, grandparents, strangers, your sippy cup...etc. You must be the most friendliest kid I've ever seen. Your smile is still the cutest thing. Still only 5 teeth. That little window in your mouth makes mama imagine what you are going to look like when you are older and loose your first tooth. But that little window doesn't slow your eating down at all. You love to eat anything and everything!

Your 15 month checkup was a loud one. You were fine in the well kids waiting room but once we made it to the room with the nurse you figured out where you were and didn't like it one bit. You cried the whole time, during measurements, the exam with Dr. Smith, and the shots. You weren't happy but you are healthy! (*Dr. Smith gave us percentile ranges this time.)

Weight:      24 lbs. 1 oz. (between percentile 75% and 90%)
Height:       31.5 inches (between percentile 50% and 75%)
Head Cir:   48.5 cm (above percentile 95%)
