A New Cousin For Carter

Nolan James was born on Wednesday, November 6, 2013.
We packed up Friday morning and headed to Florence to meet our new nephew and Carter's new cousin. Nolan is tiny. We couldn't remember Carter ever looking this tiny. He was all bundled up and sleeping so quietly. Casey laid down with him and big brother Nathan was quick to come check on the two of them.
Nolan was so quiet, Carter never really noticed him. Occasionally, she would glance at her daddy laying on the couch with Nolan in his arms but she was too busy checking out Nathan's toys.
Nathan is a proud BIG BROTHER!
Carter had fun exploring her new surroundings with Kari and Ryan.
Check out that cute little belly!
Nathan LOVES his trucks!
Carter enjoyed playing with Grandpa. The cookie jar and blocks definitely entertained her for a good part of the time.

Nolan woke up for a little while and looked around.
We brought Nathan got a big brother gift and Nolan got a little brother gift!
He loves Thomas the train. He was excited to get a Thomas & Friends I Spy Book.
Of course he had to fulfill his big brother duties of helping open Nolan's gift. Nolan got some new Clemson onesies and a gray and orange outfit with a tiger on the hiney! As soon as Kari held it up Grandpa and Grammie started booing Clemson...I bet if it had a Hokie on it they would have been cheering! I'm sure Nolan won't grow up without some sort of Virginia Tech gear.
Carter had fun playing with different toys and standing at their ottoman. After Carter and Nathan woke up from their naps, it was snack time. Carter kept watching Nathan eat his cereal while she ate her puffs.
One of the funniest moments of the day was when Carter reached for Nathan and put her hand on his shirt. Nathan said, "Carter, do you like my shirt?" We all had to laugh!
They held hands for the first time!
Overall, we had a good visit. Nolan is such a good baby. He was so quiet, we hardly knew he was there! Nathan on the other hand, he let his presence be known. He is full of energy and  had fun playing with Carter. It's hard to believe he is two and a half...and now he is a Big Brother!
